This trip has been a mix of staying in cities or being somewhere with a lot of hiking. When I have a full day off it’s easy to figure out what to do if I’m near a national park, but what do you do when you’re in a big city where most everything is closed? You go to the beach!
Monday, November 21st – Wednesday, November 23rd
I spent a busy couple of weeks in Los Angeles. I checked out a large amount of art, so that’s going to be the majority of pictures but I also managed to take my scooter down the beach for Thanksgiving and eat and drink my way through Atwater Village.
Saturday, November 19th – Sunday, November 20th
Saturday I did one last hike in Joshua Tree, the popular (for good reason) Ryan Mountain trail and then headed out and around the park, circling counter-clockwise until I arrived in Palm Springs. The next day I happily high tailed it out of there and it was up through the mountains and into my destination for the next two weeks: Los Angeles.
Thursday, November 17th – Friday, November 18th
I was enjoying my time at exploring Joshua Tree but there’s only so many hikes that are short enough and close enough to Twentynine Palms. On Thursday and Friday I headed back towards Amboy, driving through the desert and down the crazy maze of dirt side roads that make up Wonder Valley.

Joshua Tree is one of my favorite parts of the world.
